Optimal Wins Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services Small Business Research and Demonstration Award

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (www.cms.gov) has awarded 10 Indefinite-Quantity Indefinite-Delivery contracts to 10 small businesses to conduct general research, analysis, demonstration, and survey activities relating to Medicare, Medicaid, and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) issues related to uninsured populations, and other aspects of CMS program responsibilities. CMS is the Federal agency responsible for the operation and oversight of the Medicare program and the Federal government’s participation in the State-operated Medicaid and State Child Health Insurance Programs. This group of contracts will be referred to as the Small Business Expedited Research and Demonstration (SBRAD).

Optimal is pleased to announce that it is one of the 10 awardees along with its subcontract partners such as the University of Maryland Smith School of Business, Center for Heath Information and Decision Systems, the Fraunhofer Center for Experimental Software Design, NORC, McKinsey & Co., SAS, Lockheed Martin, Stratis Health, American Institutes for Research and a cadre of expert consultants.

The anticipated contract period of performance will consist of a base period of 5 five (years) with 5 (five) one-year option periods. The period of performance will not exceed ten (10) years.
