Dr. Turner to Present “Open Data in the Public Sector” at UMD’s James Clark School of Engineering
Date: September 28, 2017
Location: College Park, MD
The University of Maryland’s James Clark School of Engineering has partnered with Whiting-Turner Contracting Company to develop the Whiting-Turner Lecture Series.
These lecture series bring together technology and entrepreneurial business leaders who deal with the real-world challenges of a face-paced and global economy with students and faculty members across campus. Speakers share insights and experiences to inform and inspire students and faculty to approach their careers, ideas, and ventures in an innovative manner. These lectures include question and answer sessions that allow students and faculty to engage with the speakers further. On September 28, 2017, Dr. Mark Turner will be presenting a lecture as part of the series based on his experience working on contracts for the federal government and developing a COTS software (Revelo) to enable efficiency and innovation on several projects. His lecture will synthesize the open data initiative taking place at the federal, state, and local government agencies. The title of Dr. Turner’s lecture is, “Open Data in the Public Sector: Unlocking Innovation & Enhancing Accountability”.
