Date: July 31, 2013
Location: College Park, MD
Scott Dempwolf, currently an Assistant Research Professor in the University of Maryland, Economic Development University Center will be presenting his dissertation on regional innovation clusters on Wednesday, July 31st at 12 noon at Optimal Solutions Group, LLC (Optimal’s) office in M Square Research Park, Maryland.
Scott’s dissertation demonstrated that innovation networks play an important role in smaller industrial regions and that by explicitly considering network approaches, federal economic development policy would be more effective and equitable. His research uses both Social Network Analysis and traditional econometric methods to evaluate the impact of innovation networks on economic growth at the county level. He was recently awarded a prestigious Wylie Fellowship for the 2011-2012 academic year to support the completion of his thesis.
