Optimal to Co-Sponsor, Participate in University of Maryland Health IT and Economics Workshop

Optimal Solutions Group, LLC (Optimal) is a proud co-sponsor and active participant in the First Annual Workshop on Health IT and Economics (WHITE). The conference is hosted by the Robert H. Smith School of Business Center for Health Information and Decision Systems at the University of Maryland.
Optimal President Dr. Mark Turner will serve as a member of the workshop’s Policy and Practice Panel and will draw on his background to provide perspective on the economics of health technologies in practice, as well as policy implications. Additionally, Ben Locke, Research and Technical Analyst III, has been invited to present a demonstration of health IT solutions Optimal currently utilizes in its work.
The workshop will be held October 8 through 9, 2010, at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. The Workshop on Health IT and Economics (WHITE) aims to stimulate new ideas and contribute to the understanding of how health IT can influence healthcare costs, quality outcomes, and policy. The workshop will gather prominent scholars from areas such as health informatics, public health, computer science, economics, and information systems and build the foundation for a “multidisciplinary health IT research community.”
